Alert the press...

I know this may come as a shock to all of you , myself included, but I actually got up at 6 am to go walking!!!!! Crazy huh!!! I walked 4 miles this morning with some neighbors and it felt great! It was not hard to get up at all and the walk was a great way to start my day! i was all excited to get home and get an early jump on my day... well that fell by the way side after I got out of the shower and laid down for "just" 15 minutes! Oh well! keep your fingers crossed that I can keep it up!!!

how to...

Someone asked me how to refinish a dresser so as they say on Yo gabba gabba..."This is how you do it!"

1. Buy a cheap dresser from a cute Chinese guy for real cheap!
2. Lug it cross country and put it in the room you want it to end up in, just so you know for sure it's worth doing all the work!!!
3. Carry the beast outside again!
4. Sand off enough to really just rough it up a little! don't go nuts on the thing!!!
5. Prime it with an OIL base primer and let that dry!
6. Paint two coats of Ivory (or whatever) regular latex paint on top of the primer and let dry.
7. Use Ralph Lauren Glaze, I used it in TOBACCO color, and put that over the paint. RL glaze is the cheapest (about $13)because you can buy it in pint size and they mix the color in for you other wise you buy a gallon of glaze and a pint of color and mix it yourself and trust me you don't need that much! I only used about 1.5 cups total!
8. Doing small sections at a time, wipe off as much glaze as you desire. The more you take off the less brown you will see!
9. When glazing detailed areas like on my dresser leave a little more on in the cracks and crevasses to highlight the detail work!
10. Wash your hands!
11. Carry the beast back into your house once it's all dry and Enjoy!

If any of you have any questions call or email me! I love this kind of stuff!!!

Dresser is done

Well here you have it! The dresser is now the buffet of my dreams! It was so fun to work on and the glazing process turned out better then I had expected! If you can remember back, this was the dresser I bought in CA for $15 ! slap on a little paint and glaze it up and it's a whole new piece of furniture... don't you wish we could transform so easily !!!

Thursday...

Ahh Thursday! A less then celebrated day of the week. Monday gets a bad rap because it has the misfortune of sending so many people back to work with no end in sight! Friday gets a restaurant named after it because we're so grateful it's Friday! Wednesday's the halfway mark so it hold celebrity status but poor Thursday... and Tuesday for that matter... we'll Tuesday is a big hit with the seniors because places like Ross and Kohls offer an extra 10% off on Tuesdays but let's be honest... does that extra 10% really make the difference they were hoping for! "Look Dottie... with this saving we can now afford to take that much needed vacation to Shady Pines we've always wanted to!" Back to Thursday plight!!!! so here we sit on the cusp of a weekend ready to let loose with nothing holding us back but Thursday!

To be honest, every day feels pretty much the same to me! I stay home with kiddlets all week so they just seem to blend together! Thursday could be Flursday and I wouldn't know the difference! The only days that feel any different is really Saturday and Sunday and that's only because I have Mike mowing the lawn and I have to keep the kids away from the the chopper off machine ( I really went to school with a girl who had her toes chopped off from a lawn mower...I'm a little paranoid!!!). And Sundays feel divine because I have nearly two hours with no one climbing all over me, asking me for a snack or smelling gameie! I HEART Sundays!!!!!!

Hmmm...What can I do to make Thursday special? It should be celebrated! It should have food named after it or a song written about it! " Thursday is a special day, it's the day we get ready for Friday!!!!!" pretty catchy huh! I am an equal opportunity celebrater and feel all days should be recognized! So live on THURSDAY!!! Stand tall and proud and be commended for your hard work as a nothing day! I for one am proud to be here today!!!

Fun updats on my family blog! Check it out here!!!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

And the heavens opened and the angels sang!!!! It's a Christmas miracle in the month of August!!!! Photos , Photos and more Photos!!!! Keep reading below to see all the exciting photos you've all been waiting for! Ha Ha!!!! lot's to see and read up on! thanks for your patience!

My BLue Bird

Here's what you get when big sister get's you dressed! How cute! Need I say more?

For real?

ok... I recently had an out of body experience along with all who were in attendance at teh Salt lake county Fair this last weekend! I'll try to adiquitly express my thoughts but it still feels like a blur!

this picture might help sum it up....

um... have you ever seen a Mortuary booth at a fair before!? nor have I but low and behold there it was in all it's opened casket glory! I couldn't resist taking a picture and it took all my will power not to just climb into it and pose for a restful moment. i mean really when else could I have done that! Man !!! now I really regret not doing it!

Ahhh.. and yes who could forget the entertainment! This here band was kind enough to put on a grand show for us all. It looked like the typical band. a drummer, a guitar player and a keyboard guy! Oh wait... and her!!!! This sweet girl's sole purpose of being on stage was to thrash her body around and cause you to wonder what drugs may have been coursing through her veins! she was quite entertaining. it was like watching a car crash and you couldn't tear your eyes off her. You did on the other hand try to shield the young children from watching!

After making it out of the tent we finally made it to the animals which by the way is usually the highlight for the kids but I have to be honest! The smell was so overwhelming all I could do was quickly walk down a row of sheep and fly covered pigs bearly keeping my Cafe Rio down!

Other highlights include witnessing a "larger" woman take control of the mechanical bull as the sunset in the background set a beautiful scene. Demolition derby from the outer fence and my daughter begging to go on a rickidy carnival ride! WE calle dit a night early!

The best thing about the night was seeing the Konold Family!!!! long lost friends from BYU!!!!

A Minin BYU reunion!

I could not believe how the stars must have all been aligned when on the same weekend three of our great friends from the good old days at BYU all were in town! The Hansens, The Caffees, and the Rylanders and the Dulgarians were together again! Furnitureless and all , the still took the time to come over for pizza and catching up!

Here are the boys! To have been a true reunion we would have had a few more guys in tow! We miss all the crew but man is great to see any of them when we can.

Here was me pulling out the stops and trying to look domestic!

Just the kids having fun in the back yard!

the coveted wives club! Talk about hitting the jackpot when it comes to wives! I could not have asked for better girlfriends when it comes to these girls! We all totally scored! I've known all these guys for years now and I could not have picked better partners for them. I simply adore all of them and the few that weren't there!!!

The imfamouse CRAFT Room....

I love it when a plan comes together! Over 10 hours, 82 buttons, 30 some odd strips, and one week later, I can finally say it's done... well at lest the paint job is done! I painstakingly hand painted all the detail work myself! Mike was a champ and helped me roll out the wall's over the course of two nights and then I dove into all the detail work. I am thrilled with how it turned out and am now having a blast filling it up! I'll have to come back and post more pics of the room when it's all organized! I am in love with it and it was worth all the hard work!

And staying true to form I did this so budget! I found the dark green paint in the bargain paint section of Sears for $2 a gallon and the other shades were $1!!! I did have to get some toll paint from the craft store but for under $15 including paint an d supplies this is what you can get!!!! Pretty cool huh!

Don't hate...

I know it's been forever! I really have been busy and taking lot;s of fun pictures to share but still can't upload them. Mike will be tortured if he doesn't get me hooked up tonight so I promise to have pics up ASAP!!

Lovin life!

What a great weekend! We were living the all American Dream! We washed our cars in our own driveway and meet the ice cream man on the street for a cool treat! We ended up heading over the the Sandy Hot air Balloon festival and I had an inner " I am loving life" moment! To see my kids having the best time dancing to Peter Brineholt and just loving our new area just really touched me!! I was just overwhelmed with happiness!!! I could not be happier!!!

Friday I got all domestic and made my first real dinner in my amazing kitchen! It was seriously the best thing! I so want to become a better cook just o spend more time in my kitchen!!!! The girls and I made yummy muffins to take to all the sweet neighbors that made us dinners. I so added stuff to the box mixes so I could "call" them home made!!! Don't laugh!!! I added apple sauce tot eh apple strusel muffins and fresh bananas to the banana nut ones! I could so taste the difference! I put them in the cutest backets and off we went to deliver them!!! yep.. look out Diana Wakefield!!! I am hot on your trail in becoming the next Martha Stewart!

Speaking of Diana Wakefield!!! Who on earth would be the last person I would have expected to show up on my door step! That's right! Diana herself!Ok let me just rewind a little. I kid you not!!!!We have had more visitors in the past week just pop in then I have ever had in my entire life! All people I love!!!

It started off with Braden and Teran, some friends who moved up here about 8 months ago!!Thay have been amazing and so helpful!

Next was Jason and Erin who we knew as newly married in Provo... she was my Bunco invite and totally plugged me in to the girl sceen!!!

then came Jill Wirthlin!!! Crazy!!! She was in town visitng family and just came by! It was soooooo great to see her and her sweet little girl!

And last but not least the one and only Diana Wakefield and family! I was her visiting teacher in CA and just fell in love with her! It was one of those calling that I benefited from way more then she ever did! Let's talk about someone we can only aspire to be like... she is a wonder woman. she bakes everyday! No joke! she has 4 amazing kids who are so reverent and obedient... We baby sat for them one weekend and I have a pretty awesome gage on good kids and she had 'em! her youngest being twins no less and she looks rockin' all the time! I just love that girl!

All these visits have really made us over the moon happy! nothing like a familiar face to make your day and who else is better to share our excitement in all this then good friends!

ok... back to life!!! guess who got to paint!!!ME!!! Mike has been great! He helped me paint my craft room! I really can't wait to get it done! I have a few more paint techniques I need to do that take time but I am pretty sure I'll love itand will think it was worth all the hard work!

so church today....we had the getting to know you interview with the bishopric... that went well I think! I probably scared them a little! When they asked me what calling I had "grown" from the most it went silent for a minute and I told them it would be easier to tell them the calling I hated the most instead! Honestly I couldn't think of anything! Anyway I had them laughing a lot and I'm sure they got a sense of my personality and my playful nature!

Mike made his mark in EQ... He introduced himself and told a little about himself and them closed by saying his favorite song was "Before he Cheats by Carrie Underwood, and just sat down. He got a few laughs which was his point but I about died when he told me... no one really knows us or our sense of humors yet!!!

In RS it was hard to miss the crazy old lady in our ward!!! I so fell in love with her the moment she made her first comment...let's just say the topics of melvins, bra's and her husband only liking to take her bra off were her high lights! and mind you the lesson was on reverence! I seriously love this sister already! We all need a little more comic relief in there sometimes now don't we!

We had dinner at our neighbors house along with another family from around the corner! This neighborhood rocks! Lesa and her family have gone above and beyond and I joke that they are the chairs of the "friends to the friendless" committee!!! Jenny gave us amazing zucchini bread and the hugest zucchini I have ever seen!Welcome to UTAH right!they even joked about it!We toured each others homes and talk about impressive!!!The yards in this area are to die for! Everyone had the coolest homes and they are so incredible!!! lovin lovin lovin it here!

I just found my camera so I promise to post pics soon... dude I just typed a novel...apologizes!

Just what I needed!

Bunco was a blast! My old friend Erin dropped in on us on Monday and totally invited me to join her fun group of girls tonight! I have to send a huge thanks to Erin for taking me under her wing! It's crazy about our little friendship. Erin was my SIL's, Stephanie's, college roommate and when we all were married and living in Provo we all hung out and got together to watch Temptation Island! Crazy huh! I haven't seen Erin in nearly 4 years and all of a sudden a familiar face appears on my door step!! How great is it to see a friend in a new area! I just loved it!

This group of girls were so great! I meet a lot of fun people full of great shopping suggestions! I really had such a great time! And how funny... no matter were in the world I go or what group I am in , we women always end up talking about nursing and ovulation! Gotta love girl talk!I look forward to meeting up with them again next month!

hey Michelle... I would love to chat but my address book is of course nowhere to be found. It's still lost amongst the sea of boxes! email me your number!

Tagged and apologize...

So first of all... sorry to others who have tagged me in the past and I never hop to it! I'm lame i know.I just need something fun to keep my mind off my house right now and this may do it!

Also... sorry if I have alarmed any of you with my bad attitude and negative posts! Really life isn't that bad! how can it be! I feel so blessed! I'm just experiancing something really new and it's just different! I am such an upbeat person. I too was surprised at how all this would effect me! So please, no worries. Home Depot was super great and took care of it all with no problems! We have the new fridge ordered and coming next week and in the mean time still get to use this shinny guy! There was a new rebate because it was energy star so it actually was $20 cheaper!
I knew I could have lived with this one but I know every time I would have been cleaning it or would find a small ding I would be regretting not returning it!

So take it from me girls... if you are in the market for a new black fridge, stay clear of the shinny ones!!! What a pain!

Lame...

After waiting a week to have a Refrigerator it finally got delivered and I hate it!The finish is horrible. They didn't have a sample of this fridge with this finish in the store so maybe it was lame for us to just pick it but I really hate it. It's a smooth black that shows every single finger print and small ding. Had I known that yeah right would I have picked it.

I already called Home Depot to see what we can do about an exchange. I'm just so irritated. The sales lady did show us a finish similar to the one we would get but not on my fridge and let's be honest, they keep the floor samples looking top notch so we buy them. It literally took me 15 min. to clean off all the finger prints and smudges from just the delivery guys and they weren't dirty guys and it's full of streaks. No thanks!!!!

I'm waiting on the sales girl to call me back to see what we can do. I just have my fingers crossed that it's as easy as coming down and picking out a new one.

Facing reality!

So I had to come to the conclusion that I am not living in my dream home! Everything I want to do seems to be ranking very low on Mikes list! Rather then come to blows ( not literal blows!!) on these thing I have just decided to give up and get over it!I really don't want to turn this whole experience into me getting disappointed and crying every day so even if it makes me the push over and the one that has to settle oh well. And again , it's not over huge things so I can understand but just things that would have made me feel like I had my stamp on something.

Please don't think I'm some poor subservient house wife that lets her husband walk all over her and not listen to her opinions. That's so not it! I've just realized that it's just not worth getting so emotionally invested in the stupid small stuff.

Honestly I'm eerked but give me a day and I'll have moved on! So what if my washer and dryer won't match and I won't be able to paint the rooms I want to. Macy won't start preschool this year and the whole craft room thing is up in the air! These things may sound important to me, but in the long run are they worth not talking to each other over! hmm... having said that maybe they are!! Ahhh! Anyway!!! Trouble in paradise I guess you can say. I'm just too exhausted to fight over this crap and I'm soooo over it(ok...not really!!!)!!!

And it's not all disagreements with my hubby! Who knew all this crap would cost so much! The cost of things is causing the stress! We can afford the finer things in life but it's the actual act of spending that we have a problem with. I feel like we've earned it and Mike (and a big part of me too) still holds tight to our saver instincts. Saving and going budget has gotten us where we are today. It's hard to break that mold. So trust me... a lot of this makes sense to me too but I just want to live a little... just a little!

Aug 4, 2007

Well...

Here's the general scoop!

It took us 14 hours to drive here! Rained nearly the entire drive in Utah!!!!

No hot water till Monday! Lovely!

No Refrigerator till Thursday! Even more lovely!

Nearly half my furniture is on back order till September so we won't place the order till then! No chairs, beds or anything cute!

But we are loving every minute of it! I love the house even more then I remembered and I could go on and on about my wonderful neighbors and neighbor hood! We've fallen in love!

The biggest milestone is getting the internet up! Yee Haaa!!!!!!

Signing off!!!

Well after a sleepless night and tossing and turning the sun finally rose on Moving Day! I was like a kid waiting to go to Disneyland minus the fact that I didn't sleep in my cloths for the next day just to save time!

Todays the big day! Last night my girls spent the night at Boo's house one last time! How sad is that! WE got all that needed to be done around the house done last night and just laied in bed amazed at the fact that today was just one sleep away! All I have to do today is pack up our blankets ands vacuum the house when it's all done!

I just wanted to say adios to my blogging family for a little while! Not sure when I'll be able to jump on again in the next little while! Next time I'll be coming at you from UTAH!!!!!! Peace out!

This is for my sister Jenny....

I know I'll be a mess when I say good bye today. Already I am trying my best to see the keyboard threw my tears. I can't tell you how much I adore you and how much I am breaking up inside over leaving you! I could not have ever asked for a better sister or best friend! I am so incredibly thankful to have been blessed with that one person in my life who just gets me 100% of the time. You are such a shinning example to me and I will forever cherish this time we have spent living so close and being so apart of each others lives. We always knew this day would come where one of us would have to watch the other walk away. We knew it would be hard and thankfully it is because it is the physically reminder of how much we love each other! It hurts this bad because I feel like I am leaving a piece of myself behind. You will always be in my life Boo. i just love you to pieces and that's all there is to it! Thanks for everything you do for me and my family but most of all thanks for being so wonderful! You are my dearest friend and I was just lucky enough to have been blessed to be your sister on top of that!

I just had to post this here to share with my blogging family because I can't take away the fact that I am my sisters sister! She is so apart of who I am and here is one place I can be myself. Keep us both in your prays today because honestly this sucks ands hurts so incredibly bad!
