My dresser is here!

I was so excited this morning when this arrived. I was up all night thinking of how I wanted to refinish it. That will all depend on where I put it. I was thinking it might make a perfect buffet in my dining room and I could store all my place mats, table cloths and grandmas china in it! Or I might just put it in my guest room. We'll see! I love it's details and lines. It has endless possibilities in my mind at this point!

After looking through magazines and pulling all the things and colors I liked out of it I decided what my style is. It's eclectic farm house/ country/ turn of the century French country restoration. Wheew! That was a mouth full. Basically Very eclectic! Colorful muted shades like greens, blues, creams, with distressed and weathered looks. I think I'll have fun finding treasures like this and I can't wait to to hit up antique stores and flee markets and yard sales. I know it will be a treasure hunt!

I Know I'm a terrible aunt! I held Emmy for th first time this week and have taken like zero pictures as of yesterday. Here are some cute ones of my adorable little niece!

Happy day!

Things seem to be lining them selves up for us! Yesterday we sold our chocolate fountain. It was hard to see it go but a huge sign of relief. We ended up selling ti to the bride and groom of the last reception we did! They were so perfect for the business. Young and ready to devote more time and energy then we were able to do. It's a great business but it just got to be too much to get all our ducks in a row with the kids and Boo now having a baby and of course us moving. It just had to be sold!I'll miss the fun times we had running it!

We also sold more furniture last night to a lady who asked way to many questions! geesh!!! She had a million questions for us so I was glad she was gone! I thing I did something counter productive today in the furniture department! I stopped by a furniture store I had noticed a few weeks ago today and bought a dresser! it's an older antique looking long dresser. I love it's look and I got i got it for only $15!! I can't wait to refinish it and find it a great home in my house! I hope Mike doesn't freak out!

I took the girls to the library to read and have a good time. I picked up some architects digest magazines to get some design inspiration! I love decorating. In fact I think once I get my girls in school and if I can swing it I would love to go get my degree in interior design. LDS Business College in SLC has a great program I hope I can do part time some day! I just adore all things that have to do with decorating!

Well I did some more packing today and slowly I am making great progress! I have a new spring in my step and am going a mile a minute in my mind just thinking about how I am going to decorate my house. I already have the office done in my mind. Now the hard part is convincing Mike to let me have free creative control over the projects I want. That will be hard for him to do because I want to do stuff that involves a saw and a lot of patience!!

Dr. 90210

Ok... No secret here that I have a very small chest! I really can't hide that and we all know I am the first to poke fun of my itty bitty titties! That being said...I have never been one to frown on plastic surgery especially if it can give you back that very important part of your body that helps define you as a woman. There is just something about feeling like you fit in your own skin that can really complete a person I am sure. I say that because I have often felt uncomfortable in my own body. I know Breasts don't make me who I am but I am always struggling with this one "little" part of my body!

I ask myself time and time again... Are theses my badges of motherhood? Am I being selfish to want to feel and look like a woman again? Am I messing with something that I shouldn't? Trust me... I am far from ever crossing that bridge where I would feel I could do something about it, I have kiddos to have still and nursing is a high priority in my book! But who knows?

I have been trying to watch Dr. 90210 more to get a grasp on what the actual surgery itself is all about including recovery and after math. YIKES!!! If anything it's a big "what not to do" campaign! I watch the surgery part with my hand covering the screen so that's a little anti productive! I can't imagine putting myself through that! And then the after pictures look so dang fake. I know they are fake!!!

I don't know if I could be comfortable with something fake in my body. But then again, I don't know if I want to look like a boy for the rest of my life either! Luckily I don't have to make any appointments any time soon but I will say it's something I think about!

I joke with my friends that one day we'll all go away to a "scrap booking convention" and come back looking amazing!!! wink wink! WE all know I don't scrapbook! I have a lot more soul searching and figuring out still to do before I sign up for any Scrap booking! ha ha!

Going CRAZY

Last Night for Family home Evening we did a lot of planning for the rest of our time here! After we sang popcorn popping like a billion times we were able to make a list of all the things we had to get done before the move and all the people we had to see. We only have 5 more weekends and when I looked at it like that I got a little panicked. I have already started packing but I just feel like that move date will sneak up on me and I don't want to stress about it!

I've been on the phone all morning trying to freight estimates for my furniture and having to talk to people who basically have no clue what they are doing! There is nothing worst then talking to people over the phone who are clueless and make you feel like you are asking them to lasso the moon or something! I've also been on the phone with someone who might be interested in the chocolate fountain! Cross your fingers.

We're selling practically all our furniture so I have to deal with flaky people from craigslist calling and wanting to come by! Oh well!!!It all goes with the territory!

I am finally feeling better! I am just super groggy from my meds so that's no fun. I am going to an Angel game tonight so that will fun. honestly I am not a huge baseball game fan but the company will be worth it and we have killer seats!

I hope all of you are having a less frustrating day!

Weekend

Yesterday I braved going out with the youngins only to wish I hadn't. Melt downs and tantrums and i'm talking about myself!!! I did get the errands that i HAD to do done so yeah for that. I went to Target to get a CD that I was dying for. Imogen Heap! Just love her. And while I was high tailing it to the CD section I was captured by a dress. I just loved it and it was on sale so score. $30 later I finally made it out of there.

This morning I went to doctors finally after being convinced this wasn't your average run of the mill cold! This cold meant business! I have a sinus infection! HOORAY! At least I can take antibiotics now. I already feel tons better and am dries up and have no more caught.

I am getting ready for my chocolate gig! This will be the last gig we do. We'll be selling our fountain. With us moving and Jen having just had a baby it's just not going to work. And let's be honest... It's more work then I thought I was signing up for! Oh well! So if any of you know of anyone looking to buy one!!!!

My latest love

So I fell in love with this song about almost a year ago and haven't heard it forever. Then last night it was on SYTYCD! Loving it!!!!!

Hide and Seek by Imogene Heap

Just a thought...

So I take for granted the simple things in life all to often. For example...The ease of breathing through both nostrils or being able to wear mascara without it running down your cheeks because your eyes can't stop watering. Ahhh! Those were the good old days!

This cold has been kicking my but! I will say I feel like I am on the up side of this beast! I can for the first time breath out of One nostril!!! Yep that's right! I will soon be joining the general population of experienced breathers again!

I know I was hit hard this time! Stress, excitement and little sleep are to blame! Oh well! My biggest loss is the fact that i have yet to hold and snuggle little Emmy Lou. What a sad side effect. My fingers are crossed for a Saturday snuggle fest with my little niece.

So today I have to be productive! No more sick days for me, well at lest that's what I am telling myself! I have a lot to do that has been left by the way side! I have a chocolate gig tomorrow night that I am so not looking forward to! It will be just me, how boring! I have to run and get supplies today. So I did the first thing you need to do to trick yourself into thinking you feel great...I got dressed. Then I did my hair and make up! Cross your fingers that it works!!!!

We did it!!!!

What a weekend!!!It started off horribly with Boo calling me just as we are leaving the air port after we land telling me she's in labor! I cried the rest of the way to Provo and have never felt farther away! I was so sad I was missing it!

Anyway... Long story short!!!! WE BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOME!!!!! It was just like I imagined it! WE walked in and just knew it was the perfect home for us! The best part was that Mike felt the exact same way! I was always afraid that I would fall in love with something and he wouldn't be convinced! Not in this case!

So here are some details... It's in the very southern tip of West Jordan bordering South Jordan. It's going to be a perfect commute to down town! It's tucked into a neighborhood with no worries that the little ones will walk out onto a busy street! It's one house away from a great open field with a park and covered picnic area!!!!The park was such a bonus!!!

It sits on 1/3 of an acre with an amazing back yard that I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of! 5 bed 3 bath fully finished basement!

The main floor has hardwoods and designer carpet with designs and embossment in it. The kitchen to some may look funny but it is sooooo me! It has a different stain and glazing treatment. It looks much cooler in person! It works with the house and the rest of it's charm. And I am in love with my light fixture in the dinning room!

The playroom has that adorable mural painting that works so great and that closet will house all the toys and games and it will be easy to organize! The common area in the basement is long and has great high traffic carpet but not in my favorite color or pattern but it will hold up for years to come. The bar has a fridge and storage. There are two rooms down stairs...The playroom and a big guest room so I expect guests!!!! And the bath room with the cool dresser sink is down stairs! There is another room with no windows that I plan on making my craft headquarters!!!! FINALLY!!! A real place of my own!!!

I really am on cloud 9! The process went fast and we were ready to rent but yesterday we fell in love with our home sweet home! We have been praying that we would be lead to the home that was meant to be ours and I feel like my prayers have been answered! I can't wait to get in there and make it our own. The charm and details in this house already feel like my style and quality. It's better then I could have imagines!

We close escrow the end of July so I have my fingers crossed that the inspection all goes through without a hitch!

I have to give a huge thanks to our family Josh and Tiffany who let us stay with htem this weekend and helped with the girls. WE were all sick and that was a huge sacrifice they made by letting us stay with them!!!We love you guys! And thanks mom for hooking us up on the flights! You rock!!!!

Michelle... Totally fell in love with Tai Pan! We live off the same street so you know I'm all over it!

Jun 15, 2007

We're off....

no! not to the hospital for baby but for Utah! WE decided to take a last minute trip out there this weekend to go see what we are getting ourselves into. We are hoping to narrow down the areas we like. We'll fly out tonight and come home Tuesday! Of course I was super excited and got no sleep last night! I didn't help that we had both girls in our bed at one point in time during the night! Wish us luck!!!

I think we are figuring out the possible culprit to our families being sick all the time. My neighbor and I were talking about it yesterday and we are certain our apartments are contaminated with mold. Looking at the history , our kids always have a runny noes or ear infection or yucky tummy's. These are symptoms of mold exposer. I know we have had a leak for who knows how long and my place has a constant smell of mildew. My neighbor has visible mold on her windows and she had to toss two suitcases because they were moldy after being stored under a bed. I really think this is the reason why. Macy was never sick for 2 years then shortly after we moved here that's when I can trace the sicknesses starting. HUMMM!!! I think we'll bring it up to the landlord and ask the place to be tested. I know they have to if it is effecting our health. My neighbor is having her daughter tested. We'll see...

Ok girls... just wanted to check in! have a great weekend!

The official "let's get baby out" Day...

We have been working feverishly to try to get Boo to go into labor all day. If all our attempt don't work the amount of laughter has to be helping. We have tried everything. She was running laps in my living room, I was rubbing her ankles and she ate the famous " labor " salad for lunch! She jumped roped and is getting adjusted tonight by a chiropractor!! We'll see if all our hard work pays off soon enough I hope! She is considering the castor oil thing tomorrow. YUCK!!! Any tips girls? Honestly we were all dying watching her do all this!

Last Night we went to the in lawsa nd hung out with Mikes cousin from ID. We adore Alexa!!!She is so stinkin adorable! She has been living in Boston and was "on her way home to ID and stopped by! I know... quite the detour but heck , we're worth it right!!!

I can do it too...

Now that I figured out how Sarah M. made my cute banner I gave it a try on my family blog. I'm still learning and very limited in my skills but I like how it turned out. Check it out here

I swear she has radar!

It never fails... at least once a month my little klepto Blue always finds a way to get her hands on my lipstick! I can't tell you how many tubes of lipstick and lip glosses she has destroyed let along how often I have to scrub down my carpet and hose her off! She just loves the stuff. I always forget I keep it in my purse and she just some hows finds it!

now don't flame me on this color choice. I know in your mind you are thinking " what woman in her right mind would wear a color like that anyway!?" Well calm down everyone! It's a tinted gloss from MAC that wears very sheer! It's full of SPF and smells amazing so back off!!!! It looks much better on me then it does caked on her sweet little face! Oh she just kills me!

Jun 10, 2007

Check it out!

Thanks to Sarah M. I have a beautiful new header for my blog!!! Wahoo!!!!! I love it so much!!!! Thanks a gain Sarah! You are the best! And I love how it set up my blog a little different! I love the new layout! It's so perfect!

Yesterday we got a lot done around here. I spent an hour posting ton's of stuff for sale on craigslist. We are selling a ton of our furniture for the big move. my only complaint is that people on craigslist are such flakes!!!!! I got like 3 emails for a dresser and nightstand in like one hour and once I emailed them back I never heard back from them. Yeesshhh! This is the part I hate about selling stuff. We become a slave to the in box and sit around waiting for people to show up!

Friday night Mace started complaining of an upset tummy and we woke up to her calling my name. She had thrown up all over herself. Gross! So we laid low Saturday and she and I are home today from church. She seems 100% as of yesterday but I would hate for her to not be and I take her to church. I had a killer headache last night and got restless night of sleep last night. I think I spend to much time in front of the computer!

I did manage to get over to Home Depot yesterday with Mike. We wanted to get a reality check on how much things cost if we need to buy them or do them or selves when we buy our first home. Holy Cow stuff is expensive. I had no clue how much a refrigerator or washer and dryer cost! YIKES!!!! And to re do a kitchen!!! My jaw was dragging on the floor!

I was also looking for that pressed tin Michelle. I couldn't find what you were talking about. Where did you find it in your Home Depot. I would love to have a pressed tin sealing in a dining room if it's architecturally pleasing in my home! I did find some cool sites on line but I was hoping to see what Michelle found at HD. Let me know!

Here are some example of pressed tin...

We'll Mace finally woke up!!! have a great Sunday everyone!!!!

I got BITTEN!!!!

So two hours later we were finally on our way out of the store! So much fun stuff to see and try on! It was way funny to see Boo in the dressing room...She'd look at a shirt and throw it to me and say" here! you try it on so I know what it will look like on me once I get this baby out!"

I did a little damage at the store to say the least. Oops! Even with all the deals it all adds up!!

here's what I made out with...

Shirts for $8, bathing suit separates for $8, Shoes for $10! It was great!! My only complaint was with the sizing. The t's run small and the button ups run big! Oh well!

It's BITTEN Day...

Boo and I are off to go shopping and see what Sarah Jessica Parkers new line, BITTEN is like! I have my fingers crossed that we'll score some great deals and awesome fashions.
I'll report back on the finds!

I am sooo happy it's friday! It feels like we have been holding our breath all week just waiting for news and I just really want to relax and enjoy ourselves this weekend. We have nothing planned but sometimes that's the best weekend!

Crazy dream last night! I know i'm weird but I had a dream that I was at a Little House on the Prairie Reunion. It was so cool. Then at some point in the night I really started caressing Mikes head. It woke him up and he said I was singing a Merry go Round song to him. FUNNY HUH!!!! I am such an active dreamer!

Ok Folks! Have a great weekend!

Verdicts in...

So.... We got the call yesterday that we have been waiting for! When Mike called me I couldn't tell he had received any news because there was no change in his demener. But... They want us! Well Mike that is!!! He was their first choice and they offered him the job in SLC!!! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!Not that we had to wait a super long time but man the wait just makes you second guess yourself and the opportunity you know!!! I was so happy and excited and proud of Mike. He didn't seem all that thrilled like I thought he would have but he explained that he was at work in his office and most of his co workers still have no clue so he had to keep it on the down low!

He will officially accept the offer today when they get back to him with his moving expense package and hopefully a time line. His boss here ideally would like him to stay till the end of Aug. WHAT!!!!! I hope they can get that date moved up a little... But I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world to be here that long. I would get as much time with baby Emmy as I could!!! That's a huge plus.Hopefully we'll know more today or by the tomorrow!

so watch out Utah...here comes trouble!

Jun 6, 2007

I have to admit...

- I love watching Little house on the Prairie! Call me nostalgic but I just love it. About a month ago I found it on TV land channel and now tape it!!! I love Albert!
- I can eat a dozen Otter Pops in one day if I let myself. My favorite flavor is Strawberry Short Kook!
- I'd sleep in every day if my kids let me!
- I have a phobia of food in a bathroom!
- I bite my nails!
- I ate half an Angel Food cake in two sittings!
- The bottom of my closet looks like a disaster zone!
- This is like the third month I was late paying rent on time...So absent minded!
- I sleep with a favorite blanket I call Hunter who is slowly falling apart and it breaks my heart!
- I write in a journal
- I haven't read a book in month.. oops!! one more goal I am slipping on!
- I have no idea what I'm making for dinner!
- I can't eat eggs without catchup!
- i am an HGTV addict!
- I could spend hours on the internet if I didn't let the guilt of not getting any house work or playing with kids get to me!
- I am struggling with my oh so simple calling of writing a monthly ward newsletter. so pathetic I know but no one gives me any info for the darn thing so I end up writing fluff every month! So lame!

Lot's of waiting going on!!!

I know so many of you are wondering and so are we!! Still no word from Salt Lake! I must be in need of a great lesson! I have had to practice patience! I must have been lacking!

Not much more to report here! We are anxiously awaiting the news from Ut and we are even more excited for our any day arrival of baby Emerson, my sisters baby!!She is about to pop and her doctor yesterday " moved some stuff around" down there to help get things going!!!SO Thrilling!!!

Did I also mention I'm waiting for my hair to grow out! he he!

So Much to talk about...Where do I begin!

SLC...

First and for most... Still no word back yet! Mike had a great interview yesterday and really had a great time meeting all the guys in the office. He feels like he could really mesh with all of them. They did say they were interviewing another girl who had more experiance so if more experiance is what they are looking fo she's got a one up on him! We just have to wait! He did say he would call today but who knows if it's to offer a job, say no thanks or tell us they still need more time!

Last night...

OK...So I was so in the mood for something treat like last night! I never have anything in the house when this happens!!! ARG!!! I was aching for some banana cookies that my friend makes . NOTHING! I finally got creative and had to remedy the situation fast! I did have vanilla pudding snack packs and Laurna Doone cookies which was a total out of the ordinary treat so I sliced up some banana and made a mini banana cream pie indulgent! I had Boo over and we totally scarfed it all down! soooo yummy!

Let there be ribbon...

So if any of you ever find yourself on a pilgrimage in search of ribbon, set your GPS to this place!!! Fabric Barn in Long Beach, CA is the place to stock up on wholesale ribbon! Boo, Megan ( Scrambledmegs) and I went hog wild in this spool super store. It's a place we have been going to since we were knee high to a grass hopper!
They sell ribbon by the spool or by the yard. everything I got was either 5yd. for a $1 or 10 yd. for a $1!!! I use it for crafting and the girls were stocking up on baby bow supplies. I could do some serious damage there but only managed to spend $12 ... humm? What was wrong with me? The majority of the store is wall to wall ribbon...They should really change their name to Ribbon Barn. The funny thing is they only have like 50 bolts of fabric for sale!

Hair cut...

Yesterday I got my hair cut. Boo treated me to a cut for my birthday! Thanks Sister!!! I am still getting used to it. She totally thinned me out in the back and I have major layers. My sister really likes it and Mike liked the way it was styled yesterday. I tried to style it today and I totally looked like FRIENDS 1994 so back it went into a ponytail...a tiny ponytail at that! I'll be taking my vitamins and praying for long hair again! I know I am a hopeless long hair wantabe! I did need it cut. I am still trying to grow out all the damage I caused when I fried my hair! I know by next week I'll love it! I just have to get used to it!

Mike said to me this morning that I was ready to move to UT... I already had the Utah hair!!!

Scrambled Megs Baby gift...

Here are a few pictures of the activity blanket I made for my future niece! After sweing it I just added tabs so you can attach toys to the blanket and it becomes a play mat. I had a lot of fun making it and it will probably become my go to gift now. I think it's so cute and useful. When toys aren't attached it a great blanket still!

Macy...I finally figured it out!

I've never really thought my kids look a lot like us and it hit me yesterday who I think Macy looks like... She looks like Rachel Ray!!! I was watching E True Hollywood Story on her yesterday and so many pictures look just like her! What do you think...
