Answering a few questions...

I always love reading all your comments and I feel bad that I never answer some of the questions so many of you ask in your comments so I'll try to catch up and do that today...

Stephanie wanted me to post a picture of our guest bed that will go so perfectly with the bedding I found. Now can you see why it demanded such pretty bedding!

Andrea had a friend in West Jordan who recently sold her home. She thought it would have been so funny if we had bought it. She said her friends name was Andrea! My heart about stopped because the home we bought was sold by an Andrea! But Sorry Andrea... not the same family! How funny would that have been!!!

Megan asked about what I had found out about preschools in UT!!! I am happy to report I won't have to take out a loan to send Macy to Preschool. I found a place that has afternoons open and it's only $60 a month! It's only two hours but I'll take what I can get. I feel much better knowing that it won't coast me nearly an arm and leg like it was going to cost me here!

Here is the link to the blog changing site so many of us are loving!

be for warned ... if you use it there is a great chance that your links will be lost and you'll have to compile them again!

A lot of you show concern for my sister and I! Thanks! We are doing ok. As long as we aren't hanging out we have a better chance of not crying! This is the absolute worst part of this whole change! She does have plans to come out early October so I keep telling myself "I'll see her soon! I'll see her soon!"We are best friends and it's just one of those things we have to deal with! I should just remind her that with me gone she can now be the coolest Box girl in the ward! He he!

Some general questions being answered about the move...

We pack up the truck tomorrow and spend the night at our in laws tomorrow night! We hope to get on the road by 4 am Thursday morning! Watch out UTAH here we come!!! I'll be driving the girls by myself so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE say a few silent prayers for me and Mike that we'll all arrive safe and that I won't get premature gray hair from a stressful drive with two crazy kids!

Todays probably the last day we'll have the computer up and running! We already signed up for our cable, internet and phone service so hopefully by early next week we'll be up and running! Glad we thought ahead and ordered it! Life without internet... That's not I life I love!!!

oh yeah... one more question to answer that a certain someone (Steph) always seems to ask or insinuate or hint to or presume... No I am not pregnant!

oops!

so when I changed my format on my blog it got rid of all my links! please email me or post a comment so I can get your blog address to link! man this sucks!

thanks Sara for the blogging info! so fun!

oh and there is a fun video on my family blog of our time at the beach! Check it out!

My weekend!

What a great weekend! We spend the best day at the beach and soaked it all in once last time! I was so happy to see the girls having the best time playing in the sand and digging for sand crabs. Blue had absolutely no fear when it came to swimming in the waves! She could not get enough of the water! They will for sure miss the beach
but hopefully the snow will make up for that!

The theme for this weekend was food, folks and fun! WE had some amazing meals with friends and the only thing that toped the food was the company. I really could not ask for better friends! I will miss my wonderful neighbors and my close ward member girlfriends.

My sister took me to dinner this weekend. I really tried to avoid going because I knew it would be hard. And of course it was but it was more fun then sad thank goodness! She gave me a beautiful Willow tree figurine of two girls back to back. I cried OF COURSE! I just love my sister more then anything and here as I write I am getting chocked up... SO Moving right along...

We about finished packing! I ran out of tape so I'll run to get some more today. I know we'll be done today. I have to clean the apartment today and tomorrow and we;ll be set!

Oh did I tell you I called a few of my new neighbors!!!! I know! It's so me to do something like that!!! I called the Bishops house and chatted with his wife and got a few numbers of girls with kids my age. I was really looking for info on preschools but it was so fun getting to know a few of the neighborhood moms! I found out the school bus stop is right there at that park across the street from us!!! So cool huh! Guess I'll never have to drive my kids to school! A total plus! Anyway... both ladies I talked to were good friends with the previous owners and just raved about the house. It got me worrying. I almost feel like I have to change the inside as much as possible to make it my own because I know when they come over they'll be thinking about how "Andrea" had it! Funny huh! I know I'm nuts! But I had plans for the house all along!

All in all we could not have asked for a better weekend!

Let the sadness begin!

So I cried for the first time over this move last night! We went to dinner with our Uncle and when it came time to say goodbye the water works began. We just adore our Uncle Doug and he means so much to us and the girls just love him to pieces! I think it was just the first of many sad goodbyes to come and I am soooo not looking forward to.I wish we could just slip away in the night!

On a happier note...

I got my shipment of the scrapbook paper I ordered. Paperwhire.com was having a sale and all the paper was .08 a sheet!!1 I totally stocked up and sot almost 300 sheets of paper for $27 including shipping! I got either 5 or 10 sheets of each print. This will be great for all my card making and decopaching! there was even super cute holiday paper and the Halloween stuff was too fun!

here was the link I used to look up the paper

and this is where I emailed my order

CRAZY Sunday!!!

There really isn't a better word to describe church today!!! First of all the microphones were not working!!Talk about a speakers nightmare! The Bishop had to scream over the pulpit announcing the meeting while some guy ran home to bring back his d.h. equipment. The Youth speaker had to speak really loud and then while this poor guy played his piano number they were setting up the microphone and speaker. What a distraction. All the while the fire alarm is randomly going off, flashing the emergency lights and each time we all got startled and laughed nervously. This poor speaker had it go off 4 three times but I have to hand it to her , she really kept her composure. The whole meeting was shot! It was sooo hard to keep focused! I felt so bad for everyone who had to speak. All the kids were extra loud and no we all seemed distracted!

Yesterday was great! We ran a bunch of errands and the girls spent the night at my dads. Mike and I were treated to an awesome dinner at Ruth's Chris by our good friend Jeff! It was so great to be out like that and the dinner was fabulous! Thanks Jeff
for the great Going away dinner! I had a Colby Steak and shrimp!!!! So goooood!!!!

All in all it's been a great weekend! One more weekend here in Huntington Beach!!!

Call back the search party!!!!

Sorry it has been a few days! I have been busy with sooo much packing and other last minute" gotta get done" stuff!

First off a little something to tempt you all with! I just ordered my guest bedroom bedding! I am so excited! I just have to show you guys in hopes that I'll soon have some guests to enjoy it!

I found it on line at Pottery Barn last night and told myself to sleep on it before I made my mind up! Well , apparently my mind was all made up and that was all it took to keep me up all night thinking about it! So first thing this morning I ordered it! I spent more then I wanted to on a guest room set it was just to great to pass up and then kicker is I still need to get sheets and pillows and a accent pillow and a dust ruffle! oops!

I just had to get it! The bed I picked out for the room totally demands beautiful bedding! I really feel like this room is going to be my little sanctuary! I am planning on making it my Heritage room and displaying all my old black and white family photos and having an heirloom quilt on display as well. I am an old soul deep down so I really feel connected to this room already! Cross your fingers that it will look as good in reality as it does in my mind!

Our phones are out! If any one else has Sun Rocket internet phone you're in the same boat as we are! The company just up and quit! Sucks!!!!! The phone company can't get out here to set up a new line until the 27th and then we leave like 4 days latter, no thanks! Oh well! It doesn't really bother me! But a huge apology for those of you trying to reach me! Sorry Michelle I would have loved talking to you!

WE close on our home on Monday! WE have to go sign s ton of paperwork today and over night it to UT! Mondays the big day and we are officially home owners! This week is flying by and I love that!

I have been packing and shopping and collecting all these fun things for the house! I found all these great storage things for my craft room and I have been hitting up antique stores looking for treasures. Man I love to shop!I swear I spend so much time on line at night looking on line! I just love decorating!

82%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

Mingle2 - Online Dating

How funny is that! I saw this on BBM's blog and had to see how addicted I really was!!!

I (HEART) Dome Depot!

yesterday was great! Took the kiddos to see the summer free movie and we saw Flushed away!!!!What a great movie! I think I loved it more then they did. It's my new favorite! Such fun humor!

MY mother in law took the girls for lunch and that gave me a few hours to myself! How great is that! I spent about an hour in my favorite ribbon store and that resulted in me spending $45 on ribbon! Oops! But I needed to stock up and I got some to send to my friend. I just love ribbon!

All that ribbon got me inspired to think about my craft room. I ended up at Home depot looking at paint. I love the fact that I'll have 100% control over at least one room in my house. Mike likes to have input on most things but my craft room is mine! I wast to paint it and make it so cute and inspiring! I think I have a ton of great ideas and I can't wait to execute them! I have fun paint treatments and storage ideas in mind.

Also at Home Depot I got a ton of samples for the rest of the house! I can't wait to get in there and paint! I found a great shade of light green for the girls room and some ideas for my kitchen and bedroom and guest room. I am really drawn to the greens and blues and I found a really soft butter yellow I hope will work in the guest room. But like I said before I have to get the thumbs up from big Mike D. and that's the hard part!

I love the power tools section at HD too. I really want to buy my first power tool once I get to UT. I want a miter saw so badly! I have all these ideas of making frames and doing a molding treatment in the office! I made that cornis box with my dad so I feel like I have the basic know how when it comes to using it!This is going to be a struggle convincing Mike I know what I'm doing but it's something I really want to do... Cross your fingers for me!

Addicted!!!!

Not sure if you have noticed but I am so addicted to the all mighty exclamation mark!!!!!! It's a rarity to not end a sentence with one! I guess it fits my personality. I am a very excited person!

The funniest part about it is if my husband is in our email account and I need him to respond to an email for me he jokingly asks me how many !!! he needs to add after each sentence!

I guess there are worse things to be addicted to right?!

Back to reality

I had the best day yesterday with my family! We went to a 4th of July celebration show at the church, then to the in laws and then watched the fireworks on the beach! How perfect is that! I was so touched all day just thinking about the love I have for this country!I was moved to tears at the show when they presented the flag and had representatives from all branches of the military. I just wanted to hug all of them and thank them.

Today I am playing catch up on all my house work. it's so hard keeping on top of it when half my house is in boxes and it looks like a storage unit. Even when it's clean it doesn't look clean or organized. It drives me a little insane! I already did a number on my kitchen and now I'll move onto my room and see how far the momentum takes me! I feel really motivated today! That's a plus!

Crazy Dream!!!

Do any of you watch Flip this house on A&E. I love watching it and That guy Armando, from the San Antonio episodes drives me crazy. He is such a mean guy some times and I think his way of doing things is a little abrasive at times... anyway... Last night I had this crazy dream!!!!

I had a dream that I met him at a book signing party and we hit it off really well. We were then babysitting his son "Mondo Man" and flirting! I kept thinking.." This is crazy! We're both married! Even in my dreams I was a super faithful wife! I woke up and told my husband this morning that I'm so in love with him I won't even cheat on him in my dreams!

So strange because when I watch the show I keep saying what a jerk he seems like! I must be subconsciously attracted to his bad boy complex which I didin't know I liked! Ha Ha! I have the strangest dreams!

The perfect weekend

I haven't had such an ideal weekend in forever! It was so perfect. It started off getting a call from Mike while he was on his way to racket ball at 7 am Sat. morning telling me that there was a yard sale with what looked like a perfect shabby chic cabinet with my name all over it! WHAT!!! Mike calling me telling me to go shopping!!! SCORE!

So I get the girls up and go to this yard sale and see it!!! It was so perfect! So me! It was antique white with crystal knobs. It would have been perfect for an entry. I ask how much..."$5!" WHAT!!! " I'll take it!" But sadly it just wasn't meant to be. Someone else was toying with the idea of buying it and the seller wanted to make sure he had the first go at it! DARN!!!! So that was the only bad part of the day!

Since I was out I just got the yard sale itch so I went hunting and man did I have my best yard sale day EVER!!! I know I went against the grain and ended up throwing our initial plan of selling all our stuff to minimize the amount to move! It just didn't really pan out that way after Saturday!! We're getting a bigger truck at this point!

Here's what I found...

A super comfy new leather couch!
An antique trunk
5 gallon glass water jug
A pottery Barn coffee table and end table
An Antique end table styled after an ice box (this was a huge find for me!)
A Cast iron skillet
An antique stool ( may become the naughty chair!)
A few other Antique accessories

My house looked like a furniture factory! It was a huge joke When Mike came home and I shared all my finds! He was super impressed with the deal and quality of the items I brought home! Trust me... When I go yard selling I have a mission. It's like I have radar. I can sift through the crap and find the good stuff! But right away Mike said we'll be renting a bigger truck! I told him it was his fault for calling me that morning! Ha Ha!!!!

I haven't decided which pieces I'll refinish and crackle and distress. It all depends on where I put it. Believe it or not but I only paid $282 for my little morning shopping spree! Couch included!!!! I told you all I was Queen of Yard Sales!!!

After all that excitement we took the girls to the dog beach and meet up with some friends! It was a blast! We picked up are all time favorite Mexican food and had a great day at the beach!

And the perfect day ended with a get together of old friends for dinner. Oddly enough so many of us were in town all at once! I had my two best friends all growing up Starla and Julie, and a handful of friends all from Middle school there! Anie, Krissy, Anie's Sister Jamie, Whitney and my sister! It was the best night! I still talk the most out of the bunch and everyone is the same! I just love my friends!! I really have a great group of friends that I so love!!! Thanks guys for a great night! Nights like that will be few and far between!

We sold some more furniture and that's always good news! Dude, craigslist draws in the strangest crowd!!! Coo Coo's!!! Anyway... That helped make room for all the new "inventory" at my house! Sunday was perfect as well! Church was great! It really was my favorite weekend! What more could I have asked for, Family! Great food, Great finds and friends!
