Girls Night out!

Every time my girlfriend comes to town a group of us girls from high school all get together for dinner! It is always a blast to catch up with each other! We have been doing it for years and each visit small things change.This time Julie, my best friend growing up, brought along her 2 month old little baby Noah! He is such a good baby!

Yesterday I had a great chance to catch up with Michelle. I finally called her after two weeks of meaning to. She is so fun and I always love visiting with her.

Oh i forgot to report how HORRIBLE my trip to get pictures taken was!!!!! it was a nightmare! I didn't expect it to be anything but! Molly was a wreck! I have to go back and retake them next week. YEAH!!!! It didn't help that they were running late and we had to wait 30 min. Oh well!

Ok girls! Have a great day! I am hopefully going to get a lot done around my house and get some crafting done! Cross your fingers that I have a productive day. We head out to Phoenix Friday morning for the weekend so I have lots to do before we go!!!! Take care!

A Night with the Idols!!!!

We had the time of our life last night! Thanks to our friends Colton and Courtney Gibbie, We got the VIP treatment at American Idol last night! The fun and excitement started even before we got into the studio. We First saw Janice Dixison, former super model, who in real life is the thinnest thing I have ever seen! We were able to talk to her and her daughter in the green room. She was very nice! Before the Show we grab a Kodak moment with former Idol Brandon from this season. We say Simon and Randy and Nigel Lithgo all arrive but quickly enter... I couldn't get my camera out fast enough!

Once inside we had access to the green room and tables of foods! I was too excited to eat! We had amazing seats! The studio is of course much smaller then it looks like on tv! Some of the other celebrates in attendance were Ivanca Trump, Shawn from Boyz II Men, One of the students from that 5th grader game show, and hr sister who is on Gilmore Girls. There were so many familiar faces in the audience too but we couldn't pin point who they were.

We also meet Ken Baker the big wig at US magazine. He is good friends with our our friends and the nicest guy! Once the show was over we all mingles with the stars. They were all so great and willing to chat and take pictures. The studio also is home to Dancing with the Stars so that is why we got some great pictures with that cast. It was awesome!!!

The funniest part of the night was that we saw our stage manager from Family Feud working the show. It was great to catch up with him!

All the contestant did AMAZING last night. Phil and Chris were my favorites of the night, But honestly they were all just so great! Listen for me tonight when it airs. I am the person that screams when Simon is commenting on Chris's performance!!

It was the best time ever!

Tonights the night!!!

We are so excited for American Idol Tonight!!!!Of Course i have no idea what to wear and Mike wants to wear this sweater...I keep telling him no sweater, at least not the one he wants to wear! We'll see who wins the fashion war!!!

I am getting the girls pictures taken today, never an outing I enjoy! Maybe thats why I haven't done pictures for over about a year! I know I am a terrible mom! It's just never a good experience. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised!

Weekend Wrap up...

Friday night we went to a great Japanese restaurant for my birthday. It was so great. We cook our own food in a grill in the middle of our table. It was so yummy and fun. I love trying new things!

Saturday was a non stop day for me. We had a community garage sale so I was up at dawn putting up 15 garage sales sings. We had the garage sale but sold just enough to cover the cost of the things we bought! ha ha. Then at 10 am the baby showers began. I had one at 10 and at 12 and at 6 but had to miss that one!!! That night we went to ward soft ball. it was a crazy day!

Sunday I woke up too exhausted to be in a good mood. We have church at 8 am! yikes. I was feeling pretty ho hum but by the end of Sacrament I was so happy to have been at church! My brother gave a great talk, gospel essentials was wonderful and the lesson in RS was just what I needed to hear.

So here we go again... another week ready to race out of the starting block!!!! it feels like it is going to be another full week.

Yesterady...

SUCKED! But that's ok... i haven't had a bad day in forever! I'm already over it!

I have been working on a baby quilt for a shower this weekend. I spend almost 5 hours on it and when i ran it through the wash it came out ruined! I about cried! There is no way to salvage it. Now I am gift less and have to run out to spend even more money on a gift. ugg!!! I did see a hidden miracle in the whole event. I finished the blanket and held onto it for a while before i washed it. Before I washed it I went to start my sisters blanket using the same method but the darn machine would not cooperate. The thread kept breaking and I couldn't even sew a single line! Thank goodness I didn't get that one done two only to have two disasters on my hands!!! Oh well!

My day did end on a positive note! My girlfriend called with great news! She is getting me 2 VIP tickets to see the taping of American Idol next Monday for my birthday!!!! It comes with back stage passes and we get to go meet and take pictures with the contestants!!!! Cool huh! So Mike and I will be partying it up AI style!!!!

I am going out to dinner with Mike tonight to celebrate my B-day! we are going to try a new Japanese restaurant were you cook the meal yourself at your own table!

MC is down!

Oh NO!!! is it just me or is it down for everyone? Hey Donna, I wanted to send you a PM through MC but it's down. Anywho...Thanks for the singing card and scrapbook beach stickers!!! so fun. Molly was carrying it around and dancing all afternoon! Thanks lady!!!!!!

The Aftermath!

AHHH! I finally feel like I can breath! Yesterday was a jam packed day for me! I had a great Birthday! I started the day getting a facial, one of my most favorite things! I went to the beauty school so it was only $10. I really need to treat myself to that like every month it's so dang cheep! I then had to run a handful of errands to get the last minute things ready for my sisters shower that was held last night!

While I was waiting for the balloons to get blown up I had a great time shopping for MYSELF!!!!! I am never this lucky. When ever I have $ to spend or an looking for something I can never find anything but yesterday the birthday Fairy must have been on my side! I found 7 tops and a pair of cute pencil pants. Jackpot!!! And a few days before I found some great shorts for summer! Yeah for me! Of course everything was on sale so that made it even more exciting. Let's be honest... that's all I ever buy, things on sale!

Jenny's shower was a huge success last night! She had a wonderful turnout, amazing food, and she scored in the gift department. The effort was all worth it of course. I just love that girl! I let Macy pick out two flannel fabrics BY HERSELF to make a receiving blanket for baby Emerson and she picked out the funniest combo... fairies on one side and giant white dogs on the other. it was so fun to see her get so excited to make it! i hope it will be a very special blanket for her cousin.

Well that about wraps up my birthday! We are going out to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate my coming of age! I am really looking forward to it! I think the worst part about having a birthday is the day after. Back to reality. Everyone was so sweet to me yesterday especially my hubby. Today the last thing he said to me as he left for work was..." so the house will be clean when i get home right!?" ha ha ha... like I said, back to reality!!!

On this historic day, in this very hour, 28 years ago, I emerged! ha ha ha!!!

It's been a wonderful 28 years! I have meet some incredible people, done some amazing things and lived a beautiful life! I am so grateful for all my life experience... the good and the not so good. They all have really made me who I am today and to be honest I think I am turning out pretty darn great! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the next 28 years will be as blessed as the first!

14. I peed my pants in front of my FHE group my freshman year! AHH Yeah!
15. I almost died while roller blading on the U campus.
16. I stared as Julie in Saturdays Warrior when I was 21.
17. I got engaged at Rain Forest Cafe!
18. I Married the most amazing man I know!
19. I lived in basement apartments in Provo and loved every minute of it!
20. I was the top Loan officer in cross sales and customer service at UCCU in Provo!
21. I Hiked a glacier in Alaska and put my bare bum on the ice!
22. I went skydiving with my hubby and extended family! So cool!

Tuesday!

This morning is really testing my patience! I got a great start and had my kitchen, my bedroom and my house generally picked up! I sat down and got the marble's about half way ready! I then got ready to sew my sisters shower gift and thinking I'm doing pretty great on time management and all my to do list stuff. that's were my success stops!!!

I have yet to sew one straight line without the thread breaking. i have to stop, take out the seam with a seam riper, re string the machine and start over. This has happened 7 times now all on the same line! I'm proud how calm I am staying but i had to just walk away from it! it's not my machine so I have no clue how to asses the situation.

So I stopped sewing, if you can call it that, and went back to my marble magnets. None of the magnets I have for these marbles are strong enough! So frustrating! Now I have to go out and try to find something to work. The shower is tomorrow! fun huh! leave it to me to have all this stuff to do the day before the shower!

so PLEASE share some good news with me! in spite of all that's going wrong today I am still happy! I've learned that we should try really hard to not let the things we can't control really get us down. It doesn't really help the situation now does it!

And it's so hard to feel bad about my situation after hearing all about the horrible events at Virgina Tech. I am seriously numb thinking about it! my heart aches for the victims and their families. I can't seem to wrap my head around the thought of someone being capable of doing such an act. I just don't know what to say...

AHHHH!!!

inside I am just so un organized and unfortunately it feels like it's effecting everything I do or need to do. My house is a reck, my to do list is forever long, my hub has the same to do list's and goals that were there 3 weeks ago... I just feel so behind.

Mike took the day off so we took the girls to Disneyland. It was a blast but all I could think about was all the things I needed to get done today/ this week! I have been wanting to call my friend Michelle for days but have had little time to take a break. Byt he time I crawl into bed each night it all hits me at once all the things I haven't gotten done or forgot to do. So frustrating.

Another thing that has been haunting me is that i REALLY want to do the fitness challenge but man do I have no energy and I just know how I am! I feel like i am setting myself up to fail... that is all the more reason to just go for a run and get started isn't it!!!! I have put off jumping over to the new site to see whats up...ok becca!!! just do it!!!!!!

ok... that's my last bit of complaining!!!!

Ode to my sister!!!!

Ok so I just loved Melissa's blog entry about her sweet sisters and I had to jump on the band wagon. I have a pretty strong contender to throw into the ring! My sister Boo is the best sister anyone can ever ask for!!! I just adore her! She is my best friend and knows me better then anyone else and STILL loves me! She is beautiful, hard working and loves me and my family so much! I have so many wonderful memories of our fun childhood together! I couldn't have asked for a better sister, best friend or neighbor!
I can't remember when our rolls changed but it did. All of a sudden she stopped wanting to borrow my cloths and I wanted to start borrowing hers! She has an incredible fashion and decorating sense and I love her taste!

Well I could go on and on! Boo I love ya! You make me smile! You make me love being a sister!!!

Thursday

Not much to report! I have plenty to do but little motivation. I have to sew four baby blankets for two showers in a week! Do you think I have started? NO!!! Yesterday I went out to get the fabric for my sisters baby blanket to Jo Anns and I was so disappointed. They have like NO cute fabric. So I totally wasted a trip out with my girls at a lame store! Hate that! So today I have to head over to this great store for fabric but a horrible store for kids! GREAT!!!!! Really lookin' forward to that!

Last night the Relief Society Presidency came by with a birthday treat for me. When I opened the door I was lookin' at them like they were nuts. I totally forgot i was having a birthday next week! CRAZY!!! I honestly had no idea why they were there handing me a muffin and a birthday card! ha ha!! I love getting older so I welcome Birthdays every year!!! It was just the strangest feeling!

so far I have no plans for my birthday and have this sad observation regarding birthdays in general... I've realized that WE have made the mistake of assuming that it is everyone else's responsibility to make our birthdays wonderful! We expect OTHERS to make our day special and if THEY don't we get upset and end up having a rotten day. I remember one year while at Rick's I waited all day for Mike to call and wish me a happy Birthday. Well he didn't! He forgot and my day was ruined! SAD huh! But honestly it wasn't his fault! It's MY Birthday!!!! It's sad that we put so much control on others shoulders. That's a heavey burden to bear for some. So I have a new attitude! I get to make my Birthday as great as I want to!!!!I am not going to expect anything from anyone and I will be responsible for my own happy day! I can do whatever I want! I think I'll plan a wonderful day for myself! Maybe get a facial and treat myself to lunch! Ahhh! I am looking forward to it already!

So for all you out there who have horrible birthdays because everyone lets you down... we need to change our attitudes and be the captains of our own ships! We can really put this perspective to use everyday! WE are responsible for the happiness we invite and create!!!! Not the people around us!!!!

By the way...Who watched OPRAH yesterday? I did and I am happy to report that I scored a 33 out of 35 on the happiness scale. I'm pretty darn happy!!!!! see what you get...

Happy Easter!!!!

I hope and pray that everyone's Easter was great! What a great time of year to stop and reflect upon the life of our Savior and his endless gift of love and forgiveness made possible by his atoning sacrifice.

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sunday. I Sang in the ward choir and loved both musical numbers we sang. He lives, He lives and This is the Christ were both such touching songs and really drove home the beautiful message of this season. We Then ended the day at the Dulgarian's house and enjoyed dinner with his parents and a few singles ward members! The girls were spoiled by everyone!

Sorry it has been forever! I am sure you are all tired of looking at little bums every time you check in! The girls and I just got back from a week long trip to AZ. WE stayed and had a blast with my Brother and Sister in law and their adorable kids! We had a great time crafting, shopping at looking at model homes... that was my favorite part! he he! We can't thank them enough for the wonderful time they showed us! We love you guys!!

I was also so happy to meet up with some wonderful people. One of my most favorite firends of all time lives in Queen Creek and any chance I get to see her I just have to jump on it! Shireen and I meet nearly 6 years ago in our BUY Married ward and becamse instant best friends. She is just so wonderful. There isn't enough time invented to tell her how much I love her. I was so glad that Steph was able to meet her finally and hopefully they can get together and Steph will know exactly why I talk so highly of her!

I was also able to meet up with two of my super great online and blogging friends! Donna from WA was visiting AZ the same weekend I was so I could not have asked for a better weekend! Steph and I meet up with her and Michelle at Michelle's beautiful home in and had a great time!!! They are both just so awesome! Donna is as beautiful as I thought she would be and I was so happy to meet her. Michelle is so fun to be with! I love everything about her! Thanks again girls for meeting up with us!!! I wish we could do it more often!

Macy was a little out of control. I told Mike when I got home to never let me travel that long with out him! It was hard because we were just off you know. Traveling does that to us. She has been nothing but sweet since we have been home. Funny huh!!! Anyway it was all worth it! I had a great time. I saw some of my most favorite people in the world. Steph, thanks for being a wonderful host. I just love you! you are a great mom and a great friend! I am so glad we are so close!!! AZ is a beautiful place! It had breathtaking views, great shopping and is full of wonderful people!... oh and SONIC Strawberry Limeaids have to go on the list of things I love in AZ!!!! love 'em!!!!!
