Super Saturday in the works!

Anyone else on an Enrichment committee and neck deep in planning a Super Saturday? I am and we have a great one in the works! I've never been to one in this ward. Last year I skipped it becasue all they had were Vinyl projects and who needs one more Vinyl project! I've meet my quota! I was sad to miss it becasue I love making fun crafts and chatting and eating great food.

This year I vowed not to get roped into doing much! Unfortunately everyone knows I craft and to be honest our ward is less then willing to step up and volunteer to teach if they aren't on the committee themselves. They think that magically these things get thrown together and POOF!!! A Super Saturday!

So with time running out and a few personal tragedies in our own committee I felt the pressure and gave in. You should have seen me yesterday! On a hunt for supplies and with a time crunch of a monkey on my back! We had a meeting Last night where all we were going to talk about was Super Saturday! All over Salt Lake Valley I went and when all was said and done with one hour left to make dinner I had three projects done!

Thanks to my amazing sister and her sharing her wards projects she told me about this adorable Pennant Birthday Banner! How cute is this!!!!! It's 3 yards long and I have this set for a unisex choice and then a boy and girl set to chose from!

Then I made these fun snowmen take out boxes that make great gift boxes for neighbors, teacher or coworker gifts. They are made out of Chinese food Take out boxes and can be filled with anything. These are only going to be $1 to make so I'm sure they will be a hit! Cheaper things seem to do really well!

And lastly These 1.5 inch magnets made of marbles and scrapbook paper!

There are some other fun projects planned like card making, an adorable dish towel apron, bread making class, and I'm suppose to teach a pretzel dipping class too but not sure how I'm going to swing it!Hopefully I can see if someone else can do it or we can nix it! I just laid awake for hours last night trying to figure out how this is all going to work! You know me! Full of ideas but always get myself in too deep when I really shouldn't. Here I am trying to simplify my life and I do it again! Oh well!

I'd love to hear what your wards are doing! Maybe I can swap out the pretzel class for something more simple! And if you want directions for any of my projects just let me know! I love sharing ideas!

So I have no idea what our ward is doing, but I am in love with those magnets and the snowmen! What a great Christmas idea! I think I might have to use that for goodie baskets for friends :o) Thanks for the great ideas! Good luck with your planning too, you always have great ideas!

I don't think our ward has even done a super saturday in years! I wish they would. I love those snowmen boxes. They are too cute.

Oh yes, please--let me dare make a suggestion to the queen of crafts. No thanks. I just get all of my ideas from you :) Love those magnets!

Hey! Those snowmen gift boxes are so cute! They would be a good gift for my students to make. Can you give me directions? (I'm not very crafty).

There you go being creative again, Rebecca. Stop it, will ya? :) If I had any brilliant ideas to share, I'd give them to you (but if you haven't figured it out by now, I'm craft-challenged). I do, however, know how to make those magnets - cute, fun & easy!

Luckily, with the new enrichment guidelines, super saturdays aren't required, so we're not having one for crafting, although we are having one with a lot of classes on strengthening home and family.

Where did you get those take out boxes?! I'm also eating and sleeping Super Saturday ideas and that one would be GREAT! I have an oreo/cream cheese candy idea that is super easy if you want it.

The only thing I liked are the flip books made out of baseball card covers. There is one with all the prophets and one about Jesus. I like them because they are simple small and will entertain my kids during sacrament.
